I'm in the process of preparing the loader for my 850 for paint. I had it sandblasted which uncovered some cracks so I'll be doing some repair first. I'm looking for some advice on what type of primer to use that will be durable and Omni AU can be used as the top coat.
I used Omni Epoxy on the tractor but I am wondering if there is something tougher for the loader. I did some reading in the archives and read where John_bud used Dupont's Corlar. I also read the spec sheet on it.
It looks like the Corlar may be more durable for the loader. I see that it can be used at temps to 35 degrees F which is good because the weather is getting cooler here. Can Omni AU be used over it? Any thoughts.
I spoke to the man at the paint store who recommended POR 15 as a primer. I read that Rod (NH) had written POR 15 to see if AU could be used over it but couldn't find where he reported their reply. I do know that they recommend their "Top Coat" be used over the POR 15 to hellp adhesion. I have use it and found that it does not have that great of adhesion to the POR 15.
As I see it now my options are Omni MP 170, Corlar or POR 15. Any suggestions would be helpful.
