I painted my 340 with Omni 170 (epoxy primer) and MTK a couple years ago, and as sure as anything I later had to pull the hydraulics block for a rebuild. Now, waiting to put back in, it looks a lot less painted than when I took it out! I really don"t want to remove all the paint and start over, particularly considering all of the nooks and crannies, and also considering it isn"t in the most prominent location. I thought I"d rough it all with Scotchbrite followed by a solvent wipedown, then reprime the whole thing first with 170, and finally repainting. Or would a couple new coats of MTK be better at this point? Anyone else been in this dilemma? Would appreciate your advice.
