Mr. J, I picked up my crank pulley today for the 1850 Perkins from the Houston Perkins dealer and it was an original replacement part as I had hoped. Thank you "wilma" for posting the proper Perkins part # (Perkins part # 31147232)in a previous post. I showed the balancer to the parts man, the guy I told you about that was seasoned and new his stuff and he claimed my balancer is good to go judging by nothing was rattling when i shook it side to side. I myself would rather have a machine or computer tell me that but ok. I got home and put the pulley / balancer assembly on and it fits tight as it should however when I ran the engine there was a pronounced wobble. Shut it down, bumped the engine a few times and the gap between the top of the motor mount and the pulley would be as thin as a note card or wide as an 1/16 inch. What is this indicating? Bent crank maybe? I may do a poor boy fix and pull the pulley back off and turn it 180 degrees to see if it's better. I may just put it on the trailer and haul it in to the shop. There are no out of the ordinary internal engine noises that I can tell such as a main or rod bearing.
