1/4" steel brake line.... If you are running a inline with no issues that means you have a clean fuel system... if you have flow issues that means you have a contaminated fuel system that needs to be addressed ...
If you have a shut off turn the fuel off and repair the leak in the line no need to drain the tank... If you do not have a shut off you need one.... I would put it back original then if you have issues with stopping up OEM filters clean/line are replace the tank... Clean fuel is hard to beat filters are no filters..
The issue with in-lines is they are hundreds of times more efficient than a few screens if you have a dirty tank you will find your self walking allot... In-line are OEM are maintenance items clean are replace once a year....
