Not strange at all. My 850 does the same thing. When it's cold, the oil in the transmission is lots thicker than when it's warm. When you let the clutch pedal up, even with the transmission in neutral, you are spinning the input shaft in that thick oil. That causes a load on the engine and will even cause the tractor to act like it's going to move forward a little.
You can go with thinner oil or you can block the clutch down and let the engine warm up. Or you can just live with it like I do.
