Engine serial number ain't that important except to sphincterly challenged self-appointed originality inspectors. All you need to know is whether yer engine is a 4-nipple frontmount ...or... a 5-nipple sidemount. You can count, can't you???
Iff'n fer summ reason, ya just gotta know when yer tractor was made, sometimes there's plain dates stamped on the lip of the hydraulic pump plate. Also rear trumpets have coded casting dates that can be 'cyphered'. ......Dell, who's NOT an authority
