I feel your pain -- I had it happen to me -- about 1.5" out and then stopped dead. I even made a pushing jig using a 7/8" all thread and a 1/2" plate. I could have pushed hard enough to break the hyd pump casting, Casting = $$$ pto = $. I used a sawsall with a hack saw plade to cut it off in front of the front piston yoke I reached in front the top and rested the sawsall stop on the top of the hyd pump. THe shaft is NOT Hardened. 15 min with the sawsall and I was done.
you will need to take off the top cover then drop the pump to clean out the shavings.
