I have seen very nice SMV's mounted to the original license bracket on the left rear fender. It is also illuminated from the tailight below. I plan to mount mine that way someday when I have time. For now, I have a standard SMV bracket wedged between the sides of my top link rocker tree and it seems to be working well for over three years! It was a shame what the prior owner in the photo did. Some people just don't care.
