Stump burn. In answer to a question about stump burning a few days ago. I have burned four different stumps with somewhat different results. All the stumps had varying remains and need to be burned again. All remains were not clear enough to mow over. One was well decayed and burned for a week with an open flame for several days. The stumps were open field stumps. Don’t set the woods on fire. Diesel fuel a few days in advance helps. Two stumps had not decayed and although one burned for days there is very hard wood left above the ground. One stump was hollow inside and about five feet high. The chimney effect made a good fire. Everyone enjoyed the weenie roast. The wife enjoyed the big fire and suggested that it would have been a good time to get naked. The grand children may not attend the next burn. Others who live in the city have charcoaled stumps. Thanks. Bill Stanley
