Boy do I feel stupid on this one. I had a starter go out on a 165 massey three cyl diesel. When I unbolted this thing I droped it and it had a black wire hooked to the solinoid short wire with the loop on one end and a metal plug on the other. I took it to a shop and he tore the starter apart and lost the wire as it was left on the starter.
Looking at whats left. I have the loop end for the battery to the starter, a small red wire which I am sure goes to the solenoid. A black wire with large loop that looks like it goes on with the battery line to the hot on starter. At first I thought it was a ground wire but the loop is big. I dont see a ground anywhere. Wondering if this thing grounds to the frame.
Also the black wire that was lost I AM SURE WENT TO THE solenoid also as I remember it. But can you believe it I cant find anywhere that it might plug into if I replace it.
I followed the harness back thinking there might be a plug and only the red and black wire inside the wire caseing.
Anybody have any ideas before I burn this thing up?
