Hi, WWTP has given the instruction to reset the selector position which should rectify the problem. It may be necessary to remove the filler plug extension if fitted. Check the gear lever for excess wear by turning it back and forth. Also check how much up and down is present. The elongated pivot hole in the gear lever will wear as will the pin that secures it. I have replaced several gear levers and pins on 250's. If this excess movement is present it would be advisable to rectify it ASAP as it will happen again. The chances of a repeat can be reduced slightly by pushing down on the gearlever slightly at each change and making a positive movement from your selected gear into neutral, then across (if necessary) and then into next gear. Try to make it a 'square' change rather than a diagonal one. DavidP
