Hello LJS, This is interesting. Just about all 290s in the UK and Europe have standard inboard disc brakes. My Bepco catalogue lists normal '135' type shoes for a 290. The drum is different as you would expect due the the different rear wheel fitting. It is listed as single brake drum and secondary brakes Germany. Do you have brake drums fitted? Although not listed for the 290 there are double sided cylinders listed for the 390 that look as if they will fit a back plate. The shoes may be secondary brakes. Does your tractor have anything of an 'industrial' history?
