The simplest method is to use a one wire alternator. Use the GM type. The parth number on the internal regulator will start off with "SE" (self exciting) rather than the "EE" that they come out with. Do awya with the voltage regulator. The cheap route is to bolt the "ARM" and "Batt" wires together at the regulator point. Make certain your battery is pne negative ground. We don't want to buy another alternator this soon. On my chaneovers, I prefer to use auniversal ignition switch, connect the battery only to the "bat" position, ignition only to the ign position and everything else, including the headlights to the accessory position. This isolates evreything during those long periods when your tractor is idle. Diodes in the elternator tend to leak to ground and will drain the battery over a long period. Plus we have to consider the decreased fire hazard along with the certainty that the headlights are off when you leave the tractor. You do have to rev the engine up one time to excite the Good luck. alternator when you crank up.
