The No. 5 was a tractor-mounted ,PTO driven mower. The No. 4 would be the last of the horse drawn mowers. I could have rubber tires as they were an option ( at least with IH ) at that time. Many of the cutter parts are available through John Deere as they didn't change those parts simply because the No. 5 ,and later, mowers were tractor mounted. If you find that you have a No.4 , you can probably get an owners manual through "The Small Farmers Journal". I bought reproduction manuals for my IH No.6 and No. 9 mowers through them and they are only about 6 dollars each. If yours is horse drawn ,look at the tool box cover and it should have the No. cast on it. I have a No. 3 JD mower and the No. 3 is cast into this cover. John
