My 276 has decided to eat the tine bar, twice on Thursday. The first time, I heard a bang, looked back and saw the back of the chamber getting tore up, then the chain on the PTO side came off along with the cover. When all came to a stop I found the Tine bar in the bale chamber with the plunger tearing the two tines all apart, the chain on the outside broken, the sproket on the main gear box broken, and the shear pin for the Knotters broken. After looking it over, it appears that the gear box that drives the tine bar has some play that is not obvious in the gear box on my parts baler. What else could cause this and what should I be looking for? I don"t want to go thru changing the gear box if that"s not the problem.
