I have the manual for my baler and will reread that for understanding why my knotter is not working at all. What I would like know is how you go about determing the source of the problem. It seems like this is a two person operation, 1 turning over the flywheel slowly while the other person observes the operation of the knotter. Is this how you do it or is there a way to do it with just one person? When you are making these observations do you have to have hay in the chamber or can it be empty to make the rotation of the flywheel easier? I have read about parts like the bill hook being worn and not being able to tell much difference between the working and the non working part. Does anyone get a micrometer or other device out to measurethe difference or is by look and feel? Enough question for now. it would be nice to find the old baler mechanic that could answer those questions.
