Belts usually have a short life, if there is something amiss. Check all bearings (spindle & mule drive), all pulleys for wear and as mentioned prior, alignment.
It is imperative, that you use the correct belt as specified by IH/Cub Cadet. Aftermarket, hardware, or automotive belts are NOT the same.
The Cub Cadet belt is a Ag Type of belt that allows for the bending and twisting that others do not.
