I currently have an old 11hp snapper rear engine rider in need of some repair and am trying to decide if I should devote the time and money it will take to make this mower dependable. Are these mowers worth fixing or should I consider buying another mower? I bought the mower used and it leaks oil, needs a muffler, has an exhaust leak next to the head, the clutch is screwy, throttle linkage has broken springs, among other things, but it mows! What kind of mower do you guys like? Should I keep it and fix it or give it up? I've heard a lot of good things about simplicity, cub cadet, and dixon. In your opinion what is the best lawn mower to own regardless of whether it is new or was built 30 years ago. I want something that is built solid, is dependable, and can be repaired. Is this snapper worth the trouble?
