there could be many things rong, it could be the rings because extra oil could be getting into the piston and might be getting burned. The only thing that seems odd about that is that it happend so sudden, rings usually dont just go, they go gradually. You could also be getting dirty fuel, but that is not very likely. If it is just a 12 horse then you should take off the head and check it out. It is not very difficult and i dont think it would do much harm. if the walls of the piston are kinda scratched and have lines in it then it is a oil problem. I know that if in a two stroke engine that if the oil and gas are not mixed enough the exhuast will be white, so my money would be on the rings cause the oil is burning. \ Please email me back if you find out the problem ok Joey
