Jim, Yes, I would agree the blades probably are due to be replaced. As for hosing off the underside of the deck, you probably are doing more harm than good. If you're not getting all the grass hosed off, the leftover grass soaked with water will accelerate the rusting. There are some sprays out there for the deck, but you have to clean the deck thoroughly & it needs to be sprayed on ever 2nd or 3rd time to be effective. I clean the deck real good at the end of the year & then paint with a primer & rustolem paint.
