Marcia I am not going to bad mouth your friend but that is no deal. First off those style machines don't work kinks out over time they add kinks. You stated your yard wasn't very large. Can you mow it with a push mower in 30 minutes? If so you don't need a rider. You would probly need a push mower to do the areas a rider wont go anyway. If you have your heart set on a rider buy a new one from somewhere you can get an on site service plan. Since I don't know your exact situation I recomend the following. Think before you buy and look at all possible situations. Will it fit your needs? Will it fit in the garage and still get the car in? Will it fit through the door of the storage shed? Will it fit through the gate to the back yard? Can I get it to some where for service? If I have a flat how do I get it fixed? etc...
