Worked on the Dixie Chopper Saturday afternoon. First I pulled the plugs and it would blow my finger off when cranking so I decided the compression was good. Dis-assembly of the top of the Kohler was a chore. The coil on the side with no spark measures 2.5 ohms and the good side measured 5.5 ohms. hmmm got another coil and it measured 5.5. When I got the old coil off it was very rusty and some of the lamination"s were separating. I put the new coil on and cranked it and I had a nice blue spark. I buttoned it all back up and it runs like a champ. It rained all day Saturday so it was too wet to mow. Gonna give it a shot today. Thanks for all your help.
