I decided to put a single remote on my '65 3000D. I went to the Ford/NH dealer and inquired about an adapter plate that mounts right where you see the OEM valves in the picture in this thread.
All you do is lift the cover up, slide in the adapter and reinstall the cover with adequate length screws and appropriate gasketing.
Then you 1/2" pipe from the ports to your open center remote (supply and return). I built a 4" extension for the fender on the left side and moved it out so that I could set the remote right where I drop my left hand.....nice and convenient. I went to TSC and bought the Cross single remote and all the other necessary hoses and couplings. I think I have $200 in parts from TSC and paid $75 for the used adapter at the dealer. I went with 1/2" hoses as I didn't know if 3/8 would supply enough fluid and the pump on those tractors isn't very big, 8gpm I think, and I wanted to get all of it I could.
Now in answer to your question. The adapter that the dealer sold me was OEM Ford YELLOW and it and the paint were used! Hope that answers your question.
