Ford cars and trucks used the same points and condenser in early 50s.I would clean the points up and have the condenser tested.The old parts are better quality.Ford used an oil filled condenser that will be marked Fomoco and have a spot of solder on the end where it was filled with oil.Oil kept moisture out, major cause of failure.
