Now that's odd. The model number is stamped into the transmission, so you would think that it would agree with the transmission that it was stamped into. The G at the end of the model number indicates that it is the 4x4 manual reversing transmission, yet you say that it is actually the 6x4. The last character of the model number should be a K if it has the 6x4 transmission. They are basically the same transmissions, just the 4x4 version is missing 2 forward gears to make it less expensive. Perhaps the transmission case broke at some point and a trans case from a 4x4 tractor was swapped in but the guts from the 6x4 were transplanted into the new case.
