This one is on 40 just east of Nuby's corner. Been on that particular place for at least 8 years that I have seen it. Knowing only a little about the landowner for several decades through my Grams, whom lives at the street where this is, owner is a bit, ummm, interesting lets say politely. Considering he may have given up having it worked on, wouldn't surprise me he put it up for sale.
On a side note, saw Mr. & Mrs. Harris at store Friday. Had a nice conversation with her, both really, and she was looking pretty good. Was very glad about that.
Back to the tractor... Have nooooo intention of going after it, just nowhere near my budget. Always saw it on back of acreage and never up close. From a distance had always thought it was a 5000. Guessed wrong. Have crawled up on 5/7/8000's at the auction, just seems a tad larger than a 5000, bigger wheels and all.
Still haven't gotten up close with it yet. Grams had surgery on Thursday, and was put up on regular post surgical floor that afternoon. Had breathing complications late late that night. She was moved to ICU this morning unexpectedly, without notice or explanation, so we all went flying back to hospital all day today. Have to work next 2 days about mile from hospital. Not sure when things will allow me to ask the owner about it. My plates kinda full and my curiosity being satisfied is pretty low on priorities right now.
While I was sitting in ICU waiting area looked them up. A Leyland 282 (Tractor Data) is closer than I thought to a 5000, hp wise. When I first posted about it, I only looked at engine hp, not at ratings, so now am a bit more edumacated.
Am always interested if its a good deal to be had, us natives do love to trade horses, steel or real, LOL
