I think the 772 was built during both the thousand series and x600 series. 1976 sales literature lists the 772 as fitting the following models: 231LCG, 531LCG, 2600, 3600, 4100, 4600SU, 4600, 5600, 6600, and 7600. Lift is listed as 2500 lbs., with a 4000 lb. breakaway. There was also a 772A for the 2600, 3600, 4100, 4600 and 4600SU, with a 2460 lift and 3800 breakaway, and a 772QT for 4600-7600 models. The loaders would, of course, fit equivalent prior models. That said, I doubt it would be an upgrade. I had one on my 4600 for a number of years. It belonged to a neighbor who used it a little on his 4600 before that. The original owner had it on a 3000. It had a few welds when I got it, and quite a few more when I sold it. Probably 98% of my use for it was moving round bales, and it's frame did not like being pushed near it's maximum lift so often. I can't imagine it lasting any time at all on a 7600-size tractor.
