Well coolants leaks are always a bit scary on these Continental blocks. I hope it"s a head gasket. Run a compression check and look for two adjacent cylinders with low presures before you pull the head. If you find that two adjacent cylinders are down, than there"s good possibility that there is a blown head gasket.
If you don"t find that pull the pan and look to see if there is fluid dripping from the bottom of the sleeves. There are o-rings at the bottom of the sleeves that sometimes fail and leak coolant directly into the pan. You can"t always tell whether the o-rings are the problem or if the block is cracked and the the coolant only appears to be coming from the o-ring area. So do a very close examination.
I"ve never tried this but if you can rotate the engine til the apparent cylinder(s) has both valves closed, and if you can pressurize the cylinder(s) with compressed air, see if fluid is forced out of the bottom at the o-ring or from above the bottom. You may be able to pinpoint the problem before you start tearing it down.
