Quite a few did this with the chains or wheel girdles or wheel strakes on the left rear wheel, this was because when plowing it was the most likely wheel that would spin because it was on top of the un-worked ground while the right wheel was on fresh ground which helped it to grip better, plus it had more weight on that side from weight transfer from the plow..John(UK)
