Hey Yall
I started to restore my great grandfathers TO30 a few months ago. I pulled it out of the pines and took it to a friend of the family. He did all his health would allow him to do to get her running again but now shes in my hands. He told me I needed a valve job most likely and that it was overheating after running 15min or so stitting still.
So, I have removed the head. I am going to take that to a machine shop to get a vavle job. I have inspected the block and the cyclinder walls dont seem to be cracked(that I can see). I have the water pump off. I figure might as well change it while im on there.
I cant find a theromstat. I understand it is the the hose going from head to radiator. Is that right? Is it ok not to have one?
I think the head gasket might have been blown but not sure.
There was a clogged hole comeing from the water pump to the head. I have cleaned that out. Perhaps this was heating it up.
Any thought or sugestions about the project would be great. Thanks
