I got the tank off. Turned it over and poured out the... well, I don't know if it qualifies as fuel anymore. It was dark brown/black. And the tank was full of chunks of dirt, or rust, or I don't know what. But it's not liquid.
Anyway, I turned it over and got the sediment bowl off. Sure enough it was clogged up with this grey kind of paste. And the hole in the tank was clogged as well. I poked a screwdriver through it... felt like dry mud. I don't think the sediment bowl can be saved. But I want a duel fuel one anyway. I checked the fuel line by blowing through it. Air made it through, so I guess it's ok?
So, I'll definetely be using the NOS tank now after hearing all the junk in the old tank. I suppose someday I can try to clean that old tank up and sell it. But no time soon.
Questions:
1) I didn't see a duel fuel sediement bowl on OEM parts. Anyone know a source?
2) Anything else I should do to the fuel line to ensure it's good?
3) There was no screen on the end of the line. Is this vital to replace?
