Classified and Photo Ad Policy

We have decided to reinstate the original policy that Yesterday's Tractor Co. had concerning advertisements by dealers. For those who've been here all these years, you'll remember that the policy was that the classified and photo ads were meant for only two types of individuals: those with a love of tractors and their historic significance, and those with a love for their land and what a tractor can do for it. As of late, there have been issues with a small portion of dealer advertisement that has taken the ads in a direction we feel has nothing to do with the love for and use of antique farm equipment.

We have restored tractors knowing full well that they would be sold when the job was done. Each was a labor of love and by the time the sale was finalized, we had a new friend... the buyer, and we hated seeing the machine go. Our intent is to enable those who do this to use the classified and photo ads because their intent is still to further the use, showing and preservation of history surrounding antique tractors. Indeed, anyone involved in reselling farm equipment after adding value, even if they do make a profit, is acceptable in the spirit behind Yesterday's Tractor Company.

There are many reputable and caring dealers and for many of us they are at times a saving grace. For these good people, we will figure out the means by which each of them can show their wares on this site. We think that helps all of you, but we also think it needs to be done in a manner where they are positively identified as culpable businesses, with pride behind their name and product. "Buy low / sell high" is an important part of our society and we know it's necessary, but this is our site and it's our goal that the photo and classified ads be a place where "buyer beware" is never the norm. For now, we need to get the ads back to what and who they were intended for.

Until we unveil a special section dedicated to only dealer ads, we ask that no further ads be posted by tractor dealers or persons who are engaged in selling tractors as a business. The ads are to be used by individuals with personal tractors for sale only. Keep watching this web page for further updates.
