Does anyone have experience with storing cob corn in a snow fence crib? Mine is on a hay wagon so it gets air from the bottom and sides. Should I cover it or leave it uncovered? It will be there until spring or early summer.

| We used to store ear corn in 3 ring cribs but it
was gone by springtime.Do not cover it.

| | Under a roof is good - needed, if you plan to store it past spring thaw, but you don't want it covered or sealed under a tarp as RR says. You want airflow, you need airflow, so even sitting in a tight shed, if the corn were on the wetter side, might not be the best. Stuff put in the snow fence rings was fed first, and long gone by February, it was temp storage and ground up and fed before winter was over. --->Paul

| Don't cover it! The moisture that's trying to evaporate off the top will condense on the inside of the plastic or whatever you put over it,then it will constantly rain back down on it. You'll have ear corn silage on the top if you cover it.
