So I am planning on purchasing the 4 arces next to my home. It is almost totally clear and has had stock on it for long time up to 3 years ago. Thought I might grow hay on it as the Po did each spring for one crop before he moved his stock to it. Mostly just fescue I think. should I try to convert it over to something more to sell to te horse lovers or am I just xxxxxing in the wind. |

| | Do you have the equipment to bale it? Do you have a way to plant it? The average first cut I get is 160 bales (40 pound bales) to acre with the timothy I plant, mix with alfalfa. 2nd. and 3rd. Cutting are okay at 30-40 bales/acre. Best mix I have is Alfalfa, Timothy with just a little Reeds Canary Grass. |

| When I first started doing hay on this place I have it was fescue but over the 32 years I have lived here I have slowly got it to be good horse hay by adding other grasses and clovers to it and now a number of people in this area wish I had a lot more of it to sell them |
