What are the pros and cons on one of them John Deere 100 big square bailers? One showed up at a local dealer for not to much and it's spotless and in great shape. Not planning on doing a lot of custom baleing with it I have enough of that with my round bailers. Just want to know what their like? |

| It is nice and shinny because those green lemons will not work.

| There's a reason it is "for not too much" even though "it's spotless and in great shape". I've heard die-hard green folks, including Deere dealers, really bad-mouth this machine. Since it does not build a pre-formed flake like the Hesston (a feature subsequently copied by the industry) it has a hard time making well-shaped bales in light windrows. Also, the lack of double knotters (another Hesston invention) limits the bale density. |
