Which one will weigh the most 55 gal. drum of good clean oats or good clean shelled corn using same drum. Thanks for any help. R.E.Lee

55 gallon of corn will weigh more.

Bushel are a measure of volume. A bushel of oats weighs 32 pounds and a bushel of corn weighs 56 pounds.

You will get about 7 bushels in a 55 gallon barrel.

Corn= 392 pounds per 55 gallons and oats will be about 224 pounds.

Exactly.

Just to add, often good oats weighs a bit more than the official 32 lbs - 36-40# (if planted late or odd weather, can end up very light as in 28# too tho), and corn can vary typically a couple lbs less, sometimes if good air dried a couple lbs more.
