I recently moved and had a lot of items that I sold and give away. I advertised that I had 400 "steel T post" and would sell them for $2.00 each. They were new.
I had a guy call that wanted 50 post. When he arrived HE COUNTED post after I did and I gave him 6 rimnent rolls of barbed wire and many other items such as 50 gal. plastic barrels and 5 gal. buckets. He was delighted.
Next day he called and said he was short THREE POSTS :x
I told him to come back--which he did--and I threw FIVE on his truck and left him standing in my field.
I didn't speak a word to him :!: :!:
 
Think you handle that guy just the way you should of. My own brother is that way, I don't sell or buy with him anymore.
 
Handled just as I would"ve, where you located, sounds like some people I know around here. Not appreciative at all of a good deal.
 
Just a thought, but maybe the guy did a little more figuring and meant he was short three posts for what he was doing, not that you shorted him three posts.
 
I now wish that I had offered a full refund for their return along with all the other items I gave him.
Bet he would have refused and been satisfied.
I sold all the other post two days later and the gentleman said he would have took them all.
They were the heavy duty post that are not available any longer.
I took a loss because of time involved with my move.
 
He counted the post. Then calls you back to say he is three short. Maybe he needs to learn how to count.

Had a guy in my shop like that. Brought in a chain saw mud ball for service. Serviced it and cleaned it to like new condition. He complained because I cleaned it.
 
I had these post for a long time--think I paid like 3.25 each. The new price for post at the time of sale was 4.25.
I always try to buy and sell used items for half price.
Thats what made me so mad---he got a bargin and didn't appreciate it.
I could have got a higher price, but I had to sell quickly.
