I was thinking about you the other day when I heard about a friends 42 year old son being killed by an exploding tractor tire. You were just asking recently about how much air to put in a tire. I don't know the details of the accident, it happened in Stratton Ont. Right across the river from where I grew up. He ran a repair shop and was working on a tire when it blew up.

I've got lazy over the years. I broke/changed enough tires in the military with a mattock for a bead breaker and 2 bars. Never had a cage so after the split ring was in place we wedged a tire iron thru the holes in the rim then lay the tire face (splitring/bar) down to air it up.

I take tires to the shop now.

Thanks.

Dave
