Just south of Wichita, Ks. on my way home from work Friday evening there was a field blowing bad enough that there were literally dirt drifts in the ditch.

I was thinking the exact same thing. That has got to be a real big problem. Intake and exhaust maifolds gotta come off for inspection at least. Head should come off. ShopVac down the cylinders, with a straw enclosed in the suction hose to get around the edges to suck up whats down between the sleeves and slugs. Cleaning the dust off of the sleeve walls. That can't be good. There's an engine that needs to NOT be turned over until all has been resolved.
