Can somebody give me an idea of a fair market value for a 1954 740 row crop. Its rusty and very used.

Picture would help.Guessing I would say anywhere from $ 1200 to $2500 depending what part of the world you are in and based on your descripition.

ou don't say if it runs or not or tire condition which is very important. $500.00 to $2200

It's not running. It has some compression in the cylinders, but low. The engine spins but will not start. As for tires. They have tread with no dry rot and holding air. I'm looking for the pic I took.

First a Ford 740 did not ever come out as a 1954 model, The NAA was the 1954 model with the 740 starting as a 1955 model.

Ok Leroy, Sounds like you know it. Look at the pic and you tell me which tractor model this is.

Just a swag here but but looking at the pic maybe $1200 tops. Get it to start and run well enough to test hydraulics, clutch, smoke and gears and drive onto a trailer - maybe $2K plus or minus.
Some folks do like row crops but often they will prefer the wide front to the narrow front. And 700 is always going to be upstaged by it's more buxom sister the 900.
That is a tractor I'd like to own someday.
Dunno what I'd do with it though. Maybe pull a float in the "World Famous Fishouse Parade":.

picured tractor has a wide front and lower utility profile.it is not a 7**,it is either a 600 or 800.7** and9** tractors are taller tractors-some had tricicle front ends. The 6** and 8** tractors are lower profile and always wide front ends

Well, actually, nothing is very special about an NAA- its just the next model number after the 8N's. That's why you're getting value estimates of less than a grand. 740 would be more special, and value would reflect it.
