Going to say goodbye to an old friend in the morning.

I am going to call the vet in the morning and have an old friend put down. Bought him for my daughter's first horse 28 years ago.He is now 32 and she is 35. Sad to say it is time. Got a hole dug in his pasture where he will rest in peace.
 
I understand.

My QH turned 25 this year. She"s still doing good, but its going to be very, very tough when the time comes.
 
We have a mare that is 42 yrs old and will have a home until she lays done for good. Both of our girls learned to ride on her, so many memories.

We have had to put down two horses, one pony and a burro. It's always hard to do, but when the animal is in ill haeath, it's the best thing to do. Stan
 
We had to do that last year to our black Chow Taz

Happened across the guy we sold our first foal to. Asked how she was doing. "Well, she died 2 years ago"

"Oh? What happened?"

"Well, after she turned 30, she just started going down hill."
 
Deed is done. I feel better now that I know he is not suffering. My daughter and I said our goodbye last night. Thank you for all your thoughts and comments.
