long 610 value

got a long 610 that has been sitting in a barn for about 10 yrs. it leaked oil bad so i replace 2 pistons but never finished putting it together. so it has sat in peices for about 10yrs. paint, metal and tires are all real good. im not sure if the motor is locked up or not but by description what do you think it is worth. kinda like to get rid of it to make space for other stuff.

i should have just about everything. it was all laying by it in the barn but who knows whos been down there trying to find things to steel. hoping its all there.

Not a lot of demand for Longs, but the 4WD stuff would probably draw some interest.

I'd find out what its worth for scrap, less the 4WD parts- then try to sell it as a whole- if no takers, sell the 4WD parts, and scrap the rest.

If you're separating out the 4WD parts, get a parts manual and make sure you get EVERYTHNG that is particular to the 4WD tractors- so a guy with 2WD can convert. Otherwise, you're wasting your (and his) time.

I bought a power steering setup for an Oliver 550 one time- had to go back to the parts tractor twice- once for the oil filter base (which was offset a little to clear the PS pump), and once for the dashboard insert (which is flat rather than concave to clear the power steering box). Two things that I'd never have thought would be different in PS tractors.

well i probably wont scrap it. hate to waste the good parts. even an un common tractor you would think somebody would buy that whole real quick for parts seeing you cant find many parts for them anymore. doesnt farmtrac own them now.

Part it out on ebay if nothing else it'll bring good money there, the parts are the same as many other Longs,AC and Olivers and many are still being used.Do you take Lancaster Farming? Put an ad in there I guarantee you'll get a bunch of responses.

ebay is a little pricy. i do get lancaster farming but they charge fees to i think. my best be is CL, this site, myfarmequepment.com, ebay classifieds, and the free listing that you can get per month in the country folks but i think im going to start putting the case 4490 in that seeing how i cant sell it anywhere else. yes i know im kinda cheap.
