O.T. --Southern Tornados--UNBELIEVABLE!!

How BLESSED my immediate area of NW Alabama was. As I watch Huntsville Alabama news, it is hard to comprehend what many many people are going through. I just saw a report where a 50 year old man--his 47 year old wife, and their 7 year old daughter were seeking shelter in a small closet. The tornado was so great that it sucked the wife and daughter out of the closet and they have not yet found either
In another report a man was found in another area, a great distance from his home.
I am sure there will be worse stories then this to come.
My son is a policeman in Florence and left this morning to help in Hackelburg Al. which is a small town about 50 miles away. It is reported that there are app. 100 people missing. His job will be to help with traffic, search for missing people, and help with family identification of found victems.
My prayers go out to all these unfortinate people.

I am working on getting a few guys from here in west central, Indiana to go with me with saws and other tools to help out where it is needed. I watched those storms live on NWS radar and trust me, twisters were everywhere! I had tears in my eyes watching that twister go through Tuscaloosa and Birmingham knowing so many people were in the path. It was one of the nastiest velocity signature I ever saw.

Smithville Ms. hit hard also, just live 4 miles from there, went there first time today after storm, words, pictures, or videos can not start to show the damage there, we are so sorry for the people,some houses nothing but rubbish with owners trying to sift thu to salvage anything they can, some just peices of houses left standing, people trying to cover them with tarps and make them safe to have a place to stay, 13 dead and more missing,

my cousin and her husband live in athens how bad was it there, we still have not been able to reach them to see. Bevery Nixon and Terry Nixon, Terry was a cop at one time in athens i think he works as some sort of security now up in that area.

Same here Jiles. I too live in Florence. My wife"s sister and family live in Phil Campbell but are all OK. My youngest son and and his roomate escaped the tragedy by hiding under a mattress in the bathtub at their apartment complex on heavy hit 15th street in Tuscaloosa.
I am truly fortunate.
