completely went through the brakes assemblies, they wer shot from the drag. Jack up tractor, wheel spins freely, start tractor, tire locks up, brakes on with no pedal move ment. Bought $76 IH brake valve rebuild kit, Alot more parts in it than I need.Rebuild valve, didnt see anything that looked bad. Reassembled,as best as I coult see on the diagram and how it came apart( not sure if the last guy that worked on it put it together though), Start tractor, brakes lock up. Any other ideas? Adjusted brakes to IT manual also. So very frustrated. Pleae advise. Thank You!

Same thing happened to me. Guys at IH dealer told me that the brake valve could be just worn out and letting fluid though even with the rebuild kit. Never was able to follow up on that, though. I think I'd start looking for a used brake valve. Maybe borrow the one off the 1206?

You have resealed the brake valve assembly. Did you check the screws that hold the springs to the end of the spools? They will come loose and push aginst the inside of the top cover& keep the brakes on.

That is telling you that the brake control valve is the problem. It is allowing pressure through even with the pedals not depressed. Now you stated that you did not change any adjustments on the valve. Are the pedals coming all of the way home to stop the oil plow? I have seen them adjusted wrong where they where down a little and would pressurize the brakes.

You either need to get your valve corrected or replace it with a known good one. If you use it like this you will ruin your new brakes.
