I have a DX 92 and the PTO just wants to run all the time.I have tried a bunch of things but no luck. I guess I will lets you guys help and hope for the best Thanks

The DX92 wasn't sold in the U.S.A but I think it is the same as a DX4.70. The internal parts of the clutch are similar to a 2 stage clutch except there is separate linkage to the 2 throwout bearings . The PTO was supposed to be left running when ever possible so that the PTO throwout bearing didn't burn out and eat the fingers off the PTO clutch.Does yours stop when something heavy is hooked to it? or never?

I have never been able to stop it. I use it to rake and for small bales. I have to shut the tractor off. This tractor is in Canada.

I think there is a plate under the clutch housing that you can take off usually 2 bolts with 10-12mm heads so you can look in with a flashlight and see if 3 of the clutch fingers move when the pto clutch handle is pulled up.If everything looks OK there I would try adjusting the slack or free travel out of the linkage to push the throw out bearing farther but don't run it long like that. It is also possible that the disk is stuck [rusted] to the flywheel, the PTO disk on a Deutz runs against the flywheel and the traction disk runs on 2 plates in the clutch so the flywheel doesn't get wrecked if the clutch gets burned up.I know of 1 tractor that always sat in a damp shed from fall till spring and had to have the edge of the disk hit with a hammer and punch to break it loose before it would release.

I am off to try this out thanks for your ideas. The tractor has been used all winter to feed and plow snow. Thanks again

Hope that this is some help. I was a Deutz dealer in Wisconsin until I ran out of money in 1981 I worked in sales after that for 15years where the dealer handled Deutz-Allis .My email is [email protected]
