I have a Deere B. Serial number isnt readable. It is styled with the starter underneath. Its my first Deere project. It has a power lift, no hydraulics. The control is a pedal under the seat. I drained the lift and want to replace the oil. I cannot find anyone who knows exactly what is the right oil for it and how much it holds. Is their a check plug you fill too? My book tells about the rear end and motor but not the lift.

You can use 30 weight non detergent motor oil in the power trol. There should be a petcock on the side to check the oil level

The owners manual says to use 30w non-detergent motor oil, but you can use todays hydraulic oil to eliminate contaminating another tractor by using the same implement.

What..??? You want "FREE" information..Ha..!!!

OK, enough of that..!!

Try not to run the oil level over the top and have the lift in the "Down" position when you are filling it..
I have never used that "petcock" to check the oil level, I just pour it in until it is near the top..!
Always with the lift down or all one-way rams in the down position..
Ron..
