Will 14.9 x 24 tires work on my 1931 Twin City "KT&quot

I was wondering what if any modification I would need to do to run a 14.9 x 24 tire on my 1931 Twin City "KT". My grandfather ran 13.00 x 24 but I am having to cut off the old rim and weld on a new rim onto the spokes and since money is tight, the 14.9's are cheaper.

Is there anyone here running this setup on here?

Thanks

Are you shure it was 13:00 and not 13, the 13 translates to the 14.9 but the 13:00 was a lot bigger taller tire. Acpording to my book there never was a 13:00 tire, the sizes went from 11:25 to 13:50 and the 11:25 translated to the 13 that is now the 14.9. The 13:50 went up to being a 15 and I don't know what that would convert to but I an guessing about a 18.4. I would say for your tractor the 14.9 is the correct size. And anything would look way out of place. Will be august before I see a KT again that is on rubber and Leroy also has one on steel.

The 13.00 X 24 tires are grader tires and you can still get them today if you want to pay close to $1000 a piece for them. But on the plus side they have a lot more grip than the normal tractor tire.
