Rain and the trouble it is causing

Around the Branson area of Missouri they are having some real problems. With the army corp. opening up the flood gates on the dam on table rock lake some towns are getting flooded. One store there that is set up for the needy has lost a bunch of stuff and with all the water this is when it is needed the most. Also looks like Arkansas is going to get hit hard tonight is the weather guessers are correct. Lots of people in Missouri and Arkansas are having some big problems and may have more on the way. If you know any one in these area you might want to check in on them and of course keep them in mind

Just had a bad storm with funnel clouds passing about 4 miles south of here at Rough River Dam and lake. Lake is at 22 feet above summer pool, expected to be the highest in its fifty year life. Water expected to flow through the emergency spillway, a first in the life of the lake.
Louisville recording the wettest April in history , over 10 inches with more expected this week. Joe

Not quite as bad here in SW Ky, best I can recall since friday morning, I've dumped a little over 8 inches from my gauge... tonight is the third straight night I've been staring at the radar with tornado warnings one after the other, so far, about four funnel clouds within 20 miles, none have touched down. Tomorrow suppose to be the worst yet. Not looking real pretty for the overnight. Corps of Engineers is saying possibly 10 more inches over the next 36 hours. Had to take trailers to the local co-op today and pick up my seed, river levels project the river to flood into their warehouse thursday by noon... took two goosenecks and stacked pallets and put all the seed in the machine shed. Probably better off with it in the warehouse.. it'd be covered in case of flood.. BUT... this late in the game, if we lose that seed, you end up taking what you can get and it definitely won't be what I've prepaid for, as much of it was in short supply to begin with.

I called a good friend of mine who lives just south of Poplar Bluff MO about a quarter mile from the Black river. He said the river is as high as he has ever seen it (lived there all his life) and they need a couple of days for the river to go down some before they get more rain.
The Weather Channel was reporting a levee gave way just south of Poplar Bluff earlier today, and they were filming on Hwy 53 between Poplar Bluff and Qulin.

You must be from around McDaniels or thereabouts Joe... we kept our boat at Axtel at Nick's for the past several summers. I'm about 12 miles south of Caneyville.

The White river is supposed to crest at 36.5 feet Saturday here a Augusta. That is 10 feet above flood stage.

IHMAN, bet you have done a lot of business with Otis and Paul Bryant . Great people. Bought a lot of SBM from them while in the hog business.

I'm about 3 miles north of Axtel off 1740.

Joe

Where I am at the lake of the Ozarks we have just gotten a bit over 3 inches so not much of any problems but they are still calling for more rain this coming week end so who knows may still have to jump in one of the boats I have laying around and hope one of them will still float. Shoot the creek on my place had been up but it is or was going back down when I looked at it yesterday

I haven"t seen this much rain since our flood of "93. It"s pouring again here now. Coming from south of us through Arkansas again.

Ya the weather guessers said sun shine today but I have yet to see it, cold and cloudy here today but so far no rain yet. May be good that I went ahead and got that old 1975 Dodge 4X4 truck yet I may need to use it to get out of my place
