Wish we could send some of this out West. We have more than our share. The water in the ditch across the road normally can't be seen.

Weatherman said at Cincinnati gauge we have broke the all time weather record for rain fall in the month of April. Believe he said 13 inches was recorded at that weather station. That is right at one third of our yearly rainfall-SE Ind. Makes one wonder what is in store for us this summer.Old record set in 1937.

Here in my neck of the woods in NW Iowa we had 4.5" from two weeks ago until three days ago. No rain on Saturday, and Sunday was sunny, warm and gorgeous. This morning started frosty and clear and the ground was dry enough for me to finish the tree planting but the soil came up gooey when I dug the holes with the post digger.

The ponds in the fields had disappeared . Then at about 4:00 this afternoon the rain started again. Nothing hard, but enough to wet things down. It's still raining at 8:50 and is supposed to do so off-and-on for the rest of the week with possible storms for the weekend. Zero fieldwork is done here except for a scattering of oats planting on sandy high ground. Last year at this time I was done planting corn and getting ready to plug in the beans.

I'm not getting bored. There are plenty of odd jobs to do, I'm just doing them before planting instead of after. Jim

We here in Southeastern Illinois have had 7 in so far and another 5 to 9 is forcast from Monday thru Thursday. The back water is coming fast. But it is a long way from 1961 yet.

6" here since saturday at 6 A.M. Two to four more expected before it ends Wednesday evening. Weatherman said EPIC flooding in southern Illinois!

yea: send it to colo. what little we get doesn't water the grass enough sometimes. a few days back, we had some bad winds. come to find out, its the same winds that hit st.louis days later.

My oldest son, is asst mngr at Raben Tire in Popular Bluffs Mo. He called today and told us that he and his wife and dogs, might have to evacuate their home soon. Said a levie was about to break , and the Corps of engineers, recomended evacuation of the town instead of trying to fix it. I guess the ohio valley is going to get a pretty good flood. I have been feeling sorry for us western Washington folks and too much rain! I reckon were pretty well off afterall.

I didn t get my rain gauge out yet this spring!I need to get a new one, wore it out last year! Yea, pretty wet in Wisconsin too!
