Fawteen - we've had a miserable month... Cold and wet. Grass hasn't started growing yet. Checked soil temperature today - 46 degrees.
Trying to find a few warm sunny days strung together so I can finish up my field and plant oats. Gotta disk and drag yet. need a smooth field for hay next year - oats are nurse crop for next year's alfalfa. Not much field work going on anywhere. Wife and I drove halfway across the state Thursday. Didn't see any fresh turned dirt. So I'm not the only farmer feeling behind the 8 ball.

PS: we have 59 Shetlands, 5 Angora goats, and 3 llamas. Lots of mouths to feed.

Wow. How many acres of pasture do you have?

I doubt my soil temp is any higher, if it's even as high, but my pastures are greening up nicely.

Wouldn't dast walk across my garden right now, I'd be in it up to my zipper...
